Friends stick together
When out at night try to have a friend walk with you, or walk in a group. Stick to well lit areas, or better still use a registered taxi!
If you are walking alone, if possible always walk facing the oncoming traffic – and be aware of your surroundings, remove headphones and walk with purpose.
If you think somebody is following you switch directions or cross the street. If the person continues to follow you, move quickly toward an open store or restaurant or lighted house. Do not be afraid to yell for help or phone the police 999.
Alcohol effects everyone’s judgment, stay with friends and enjoy your night out (but don’t over do it)!
